Creating a Company at KU

Increased awareness of the importance of intellectual property and technology transfer has encouraged KU faculty, staff and students to consider starting a business. The University of Kansas Center for Research, Inc. (KUCR) has procedures that allow KU employees the opportunity to start a company while avoiding career-threatening conflicts of interest.

KUCTC has designed guides that:

• Answer frequently asked questions about KU procedures for employees to follow when establishment of a company is being considered
• Bring together pertinent KU policies
• Provide process information so department chairs and deans can guide staff members properly.
